This is one of two large holes in the bottom just forward of the windshield.
There is one on each side of the the boat about a foot from the keel. |
 |
Here is a view with the interior removed. I found a few surprises
I didn't see before I purchased it hidden under the floorboards and side
panels.. |
 |
Here is a rib which was laying in the bilge above the previously mentioned
holes. It appears as if some had ripped it out using a crow bar. The screws
were just pulled thru the both layers of planking. It is actually broken
into four pieces. I fitted the pieces together for making a new rib. I
knew about this when I purchased the boat. |
 |
Here is where the rib was supposed to go. There are also a few battens
missing on the bottom. |
 |
Notice the large crack in the rib. Almost all of the ribs forward of
the engine have cracks, some worse than others. |
 |
Here is a picture of another poor repair. Someone installed wood screws
that were way to long. They stick out almost an inch beyond the battens.
I found this in four or five different places. |
 |
Here someone fiberglassed a section between two battens. I found this
in four different places. The interesting thing is they are all well above
the waterline. |
 |
You have to see this one to believe it. Plywood was placed against
the port side and machine screws placed all the way through with washers
and nuts. Similar repairs can also be seen to the left of the plywood. |
 |
It looks like the original 283. It is stamped 5 11 60 on the block.
The original Chris-Craft engine ID tag is missing from the exhaust manifold.
With the exception of the water pump and generator it appears that all
the engine hardware is there. The spark arestor is also MIA. |
 |
Here's the dashboard. Missing one guage, not sure what it is supposed
to be yet. Possibly a fuel guage as the tank has a sending unit in it.
The steering wheel needs alot of help. Can anyone tell me what type of
wheel it is. I heard it came from a Chrysler Imperial, but I've yet to
verify that. |
